Foxton and Watford locks

 will be open for passage 

First boat in 09.30 - Last boat in 14.45 

Please book in with lock keepers on site who will tell you when you may proceed

  

From 31 March First boat in 08.00 - Last boat in 17.15

A floating Market is taking place at Foxton over the Easter weekend, from bridge 60 south along the towpath for approximately 200 metres. 

There will be a mooring restriction along this stretch from 1pm on 27th March until 1pm on 2nd April. READ MORE

Meet our team. Your friendly helpful lock keepers will give advice, help and guidance to ensure your enjoyment and safety during your visit to Foxton Locks on a boat or on foot.

They are well trained with a comprehensive knowledge of how the locks work, their history and some local knowledge for both boaters and visitors.

Leave time to moor up and enjoy the local pubs, cafe and museum. Explore the site of the Inclined Plane and get a fantastic view from the viewing platform.

 

VISITORS

Visitors to Foxton Locks can enjoy a memorable time to our historic locks. There is plenty to see and do at Foxton Locks for a great family day out.

Watch boats transverse the locks, have a picnic by the locks or lunch in the pubs. Visit the museum to find out more about the history of the English canals, Foxton Locks and Inclined Plane. Look out for swans, ducks and even a glimpse of our resident kingfisher.
